At a bucolic farm estate overlooking Saratoga Lake, we undertook a remarkable, award-winning basement transformation, redefining luxury in below-grade design. With the merger of the original 1790s farmhouse and a repurposed 1800s barn, we created a multi-faceted zone for recreation and relaxation. Among the show-stopping features are a New Orleans-themed bar, home theater, billiards parlor, golf simulator, wine and whiskey room, and a spa complete with sauna and jetted tub. This resort-like haven speaks to the homeowners’ penchant for entertaining with panache and hosting extended family in style and comfort. Our talented designers worked closely with the clients to select and blend unusual materials, colors, and textures in the fixtures and finishes throughout, uplifting the space while maintaining an intimate feel. The result: a basement remodel that defies conventions with indulgent amenities in an unexpected setting.
