The inspiration for this remodeled kitchen in Saratoga Springs, NY, sprang from the desire to retain and enhance the original hearth-style cooking alcove. The family’s two cooks wanted to create their culinary works in style and comfort. The homeowners longed for a kitchen that was less cramped, less disjointed and open to the neighboring dining area.
They worked closely with Teakwood Builders to design a kitchen rich in architectural elements – like the ornate brackets at the peninsula – and tasteful finishes – such as the granite countertops and copper range hood – that would honor the home’s 1870s history.
