Jim Sasko is our founder, president, and Teakwood visionary. Jim’s journey is as unique and interesting as each of his company’s custom projects. While Jim oversees all aspects of Teakwood—from operations and hiring talent, to project planning and design—his drive and passion extend beyond luxury remodeling and construction.

An avid motorcycle rider, Jim finds joy, focus, and even stress relief in Superbike racing. While relatively new to the sport, he’s learned a lot in a short time. Riding at high speeds and navigating challenging corners demands skill, perseverance, and unwavering concentration, qualities he employs daily at Teakwood.

Jim was inspired to build his own company in 1995 when he saw the need for truly custom residential construction, with a design/build experience that respected each homeowner’s singular wants, needs, and preferences. His approach was distinctive: a service-oriented business with collaborative client involvement, yielding a beautiful, quality product.

Teakwood is not just another homebuilder or remodeler, but a company known for its custom—and customer-focused!—interactions with clients, design professionals, and trade partners, too.
