The exterior of this historic colonial home in Saratoga Springs, NY, had been renovated in the past, but the additions didn’t meld with the original scale and architectural details. The side entry had become the natural main entrance. Teakwood balanced the scale and emphasized the more useful entrance by adding a Greek Revival porch with an open portico, twin support columns and a wall of Palladian windows. A strong pediment joins the roof slope of the original portion of the home to the newer construction.
